Because You overcome, we will too,
though true, we need You to breakthrough,
for there are days when all seems lost,
when it seems we have miscalculated the cost,
of what it really means to be Your disciple
as we find ourselves confronted by evil.
Not that we want to give up or turn away,
no Lord, we just need You to display
more of Your power in and over our lives,
for too much of the flesh still survives.
But it is for freedom that You set us free,
to stand secure in and to live from victory,
the victory that comes with your kingdom
and your will being done - so we overcome.
