Rahab

Her lifestyle was not the best, but she was no worse;
her lifestyle showed all are sinners, that all are perverse.
Some would have judged her and looked down with disdain,
but they were in no way better, all had no righteousness claim.

Her lifestyle was not the best, what she did was not ideal,
but it shows all do sin, though some of it we try to conceal.
Some would have judged her and looked at her with scorn,
but they were in no way better, all were of the flesh born.

Her lifestyle was not the best, she was in need of repair,
she longed for something more, to be freed from despair.
Some would have judged her and considered her a lost cause,
but they were in no way better, all sinned against God's laws.

Her lifestyle was not the best, but for her faith she was rewarded,
she was brought into God's family, yes scarred, but not discarded.
Some would still judge her, talk about her past & make a snide remark,
but God saved & forgave her, and in Christ she no longer missed the mark.

Our lifestyle was also not the best, we fell short of God's glory,
prostituting ourselves to sinful pleasures, all of us being unholy.
But we heard about Jesus, and by faith we believed in his name,
He freed us from sin's enslavement, no longer to live in its shame.

Our lifestyle is now being transformed, so we must boldly declare,
that we are a new creation in Christ, and nothing else can compare.
Some would still judge and call us by who we once used to be,
but like Rahab, we have in Christ been given a new identity.
